IHOPE Foundation is an organization committed to working with underserved communities to improve the quality of life of vulnerable populations through responsive and innovative health programming, service delivery and capacity building in Kenya.

Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR)

Despite the Kenyan Ministry of Health's ongoing efforts to promote youth and adolescent sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, significant barriers persist.

Girl-Child Initiative/Pad-A-Girl Project

Directly supported 4,500 girls across Siaya, Homa-bay and Migori Counties with comprehensive menstrual health education and sustainable sanitary pad distribution

Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Poor WASH conditions in schools remain a critical public health challenge. We address these challenges through evidence-based interventions in Migori County schools

My name is Kaela Walsh, a recent graduate of Memorial University, Newfoundland, where I earned my BSc. in Biology with a minor in Psychology. Inspired by my involvement with MUNHOPE (Memorial University Health Outreach Promotion & Education)—an organization affiliated with the IHOPE Foundation—I embarked on a life-changing journey to Migori, Kenya. Though initially uncertain, my experience has been nothing short of transformative, filled with warm welcomes, rich cultural exchanges, and meaningful work.
